At Moulders Consulting, we have developed bespoke ERP/MRP solutions to suit the needs of the automobile industry. Our ERP/MRP systems have been designed by manufacturing professionals, for manufacturing professionals, using over 40 years of combined experience in the sector.

Our team comprises automobile manufacturing specialists from a diverse variety of roles, including sales, marketing, operations, and management.

By harnessing the expertise of our experts, we have been able to introduce several leading ERP/MRP systems to the automobile industry. As a result, we have provided our clients with the benefits of streamlined processes, efficient operations, and improved results. Let’s now explain how these systems work.

Firstly, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems manage the material requirements for the manufacturing process. MRP is an essential process in the automobile industry, and is used to secure the required resources to create products.

MRP comprises six steps, including:

Production Schedule Development – The production schedule is calculated according to customer demand and inventory levels. The MRP system determines the quantity of products to be produced over the designated period. This calculation is then used to form the basis of the production plan.

Material Requirements – After the production schedule has been developed, the system then moves on to calculating the material requirements. It achieves this by assessing the volume of products that need to be manufactured and the type and quantity of materials needed to produce each product, including a waste margin.

Check Inventory – The system checks that the inventory is sufficiently stocked to meet the material demands.

Generate Purchase Orders – If there are not enough resources available to fulfil the material demands, the MRP will generate purchase orders for the required materials. This includes the quantity, delivery date, and other details.

Track Progress – If any purchase orders have been generated, the MRP system will track their progress, including delivery dates, delays, or delivery issues.

Adjust The Plan – If there are any changes to the production plan for any reason, the MRP system will tailor the production schedule as necessary.
